A 14-year-old Illinois girl has been charged with first-degree murder after she allegedly stabbed her 11-year-old half-sister for being ungrateful for everything the teen did for her, such as cooking dinner and other chores.

The teen from Mundelein, Ill., called police Tuesday morning claiming an intruder had stabbed her half-sister, the local ABC News station reported.

A knife was left on the bedspread beside the 11-year-old girl's body. Police said after she was questioned, the 14-year-old admitted she woke up Tuesday morning and stayed in bed for about 10 to 15 minutes thinking about killing the girl, then went downstairs, got a knife from the kitchen and returned to her half-sister's room and stabbed her while the girl slept.

The medical examiner said the 11-year-old suffered about 40 stab wounds, some of which were defensive, meaning she woke up during the attack.
