Following Olivia Chow’s victory Monday night in a vote to replace John Tory as mayor, the city says all signs must be removed from lawn and public property.

The city suggests the signs be taken to one of five drop-off depots to be recycled and disposed, and not placed in recycling bins.

Three types of signs can be recycled at the depots: Corrugated plastic, fibre based such as paperboard, and plastic film.

The city is requesting material be separated into plastic, paper, wood and metal to make it easier to recycle and dispose.

After Thursday, people can contact 311 and submit a service request for sign removal from public property.
